Preston North End will be welcoming the travelling hordes from Wolverhampton, 5,600 of them, to Deepdale for what is expected to be the largest crowd of the season so far. Wolves go into the game looking like favourites for the 3 points but it all depends which PNE team turns up. With a home record that has seen far too many draws and the absence of Pearson, not many will disagree with Wolves being favourites.
Wolves Players You Might Remember:
The club has been represented by numerous high-profile players over the years, most notably Billy Wright, who captained England a record 90 times and was the first player to win a century of international caps, as well as earning the Footballer of the Year Award, an accolade also won by Wolves half-back Bill Slater in 1960. In total, 34 players have won full England caps during their time with Wolves, including the club's record goalscorer Steve Bull, the last of the club's England internationals to appear at a major tournament.
Andy Gray, Emlyn Hughes, Paul Ince and Denis Irwin are all previous League Championship medal winners who have also represented Wolves. Joleon Lescott went on to play for England 26 times scoring once. Robbie Keane went on to become Ireland's all-time leading goalscorer with 68 goals in 146 appearances.
